About the Artist

Welcome to Lokho’s Lens! 🌿✨
Here, art meets storytelling, and culture comes alive. Founded by Lokho Kotile, an artist, educator, and writer, Lokho’s Lens is a space where creativity flows freely and deeply, connecting people to the beauty of life’s everyday moments and the richness of heritage.

🎨 Lokho earned her Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), where she refined her artistic voice in illustration, photography, and mixed media storytellingAs a proud Oromo woman, Lokho draws inspiration from her roots, weaving the themes of home, belonging, and nature into her art. Her vibrant illustrations and photography tell stories of resilience and connection, offering a unique lens through which to view the world.

Beyond her work as an artist, Lokho is also an experienced educator and art teacher. She has taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to young learners, helping students thrive in academic settings through personalized support and inclusive teaching practices. As a middle school art teacher and reading interventionist, she has inspired creativity and cultivated a love of learning in students of all backgrounds. Lokho’s passion for nurturing growth extends into her work as a writer, where she crafts heartfelt stories and develops engaging educational materials.
